
LONGMAN’S GIN
While at Carbonate, our team helped launch Longman's, an Oakland-based gin made to “Taste What's Missing.” The challenge was to create a brand that celebrated Oakland's industrious spirit and enduring quality, positioning Longman's as an 'everyday' gin with timeless appeal. We crafted a visual identity and brand strategy that embodied this vision, drawing inspiration from turn-of-the-century industrial signage and nautical benchmarks, while subtly nodding to the founders' heritage and the Bay Area's history. The color palette, inspired by oceanic hues and vintage American ephemera, paired with the tactile label design and specialty printing to convey an elevated, yet approachable, quality. This foundation, built on simplicity and thoughtful details, continues to support Longman's brand development across collateral, website, merchandise, and ongoing packaging design, establishing a strong presence in the craft spirits market.
